Main Purpose of the Role:
To carry out estimates as specified by insurers/customers ensuring that the vehicle repair can be carried out efficiently and that by doing so a satisfactory profit margin can be generated.
Main Tasks:
- To prepare manual and computerised estimates and ensure they conform to the requirements laid down by the insurance company/customer so that customer care standards are always maintained.
- Order parts (where applicable) ensuring they are supplied correctly, in full and in time for the vehicle's arrival. You are also required (where applicable) to check that parts received from suppliers are genuine, non-genuine or second-hand for suitability, before labelling and locating them for future traceability.
- To maintain a file of all estimates, making sure that all work that is not automatically authorised is identified. Ensure that any such work does not commence until authorisation is given, following up on any unauthorised estimates and reporting the reasons.
- Liaise with the body shop personnel and make sure they completely understand the work to be done as per your estimate.
- To be aware of and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and policies.
Pay and Benefits:
Up to £40,000 base salary (dependent on experience and qualifications), plus bonus scheme.
A minimum of 3 years experience in this role is essential.
Hours:
8am - 5pm - Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break.
